I filmed the last few minutes coming into Big Chute. Swift Rapids to here is very high on our list of favourite stretches on the TSW. It is incredibly scenic, plus it passes the famous “Waubic” restaurant – a riverside pub that is a destination for many boaters.
Looks like we will have more time to enjoy it as the “railway” is being repaired. Five boats on top and one below. Several of the boats packed up right away and caught a taxi to Peterborough. We stuck around for a few days, but finally decided to head for home as rain was in the forecast over the weekend. A taxi ride to Midland where I was fortunate to find a rental car. Back to Big Chute to pick up John and the dogs. Then home to Ottawa for a few days.
