If you follow me on Facebook you know I swore off using the term “milestone” several months ago. But today it occurred to me that the term might be applicable for a couple of reasons.
First, Loyalist Cove Marina posted that they were very busy hauling out boats. We have wintered at this marina a number of times and they do great work. But, it’s getting to be the last week of October and we are not thinking about putting the boat away. Proof that we aren’t in the usual places for this time of year.

As a matter of fact it’s 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 C) as I sit in the cockpit writing this post. We just had a cold spell but it’s warming up nicely as we head roughly west and south on the Tennessee River.
Also we crossed back into the Central Standard Time Zone this morning. Strangely Tennessee straddles the Line between CST and EST.

The boat will stay in this time zone until we get past the Florida pan handle.
So, does this amount to a milestone? You be the judge. Warm weather, boat still in the water, no doubt in my mind.
Where are you deciding to call it quits for this year?

Hi Trudy. Technically we are not stopping. But we have to exit the US after 6 months. We plan to go home to Ottawa for Christmas and then return to the and cruise around Florida.

Sounds Ike a great retirement. Any plans on heading to Caribbean? If you do, read the book An Embarrasment of Mangoes about a Canadian couple who did. Great book! Happy transit!!
