We have been able to take advantage of some beautiful weather and explored several anchorages near Orange Beach. We buddy boated with Surface Interval III and dropped our hook at Robert’s Bayou where we were serenaded by dogs, someones hound and a loon. There was a boat ramp nearby so getting the dogs to shore was easy. Not graceful as exiting a dinghy can be challenging at the best of times, but crawling up onto a rough wood dock a low tide removes any dignity one has. We also had the option of beaching the dinghy at a local restaurant, walking the dogs and having a Bush Whacker on the deck.

The next day we transited dolphin alley. Entrancing to watch them play around the boat and in our wake. At one point, Moon Dance had a pod of five under her bow. I was sure I could feel the drag.

Our second anchorage provided lots of places to walk and explore. As well as providing some festive decorations.

We are very grateful to have had these couple of days to begin our exploration of the Gulf coast. It will encourage us to hurry back after New Year’s Day.

It was a great couple of anchorages!
Yes, please…hurry back!!
