The river cruise is a nice respite from the ocean. All systems are being flushed with fresh water and we are seeing some beautiful houses up close.

Our first stop was Sweetwater Landing, an odd marina. The protected slips have a collection of almost derelict boats up a canal. The transient slips are out along the river – as far as possible from the amenities – and right beside a massive tiki hut restaurant.

Our Canadian Flag generated a lot of drop-in visits from people walking by. Many fellow Canadians wintering here, plus Americans from the northern states. All still reeling from the devastation in Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. One man mentioned the place where he proposed to his wife was gone – as was his wife. Glad we didn’t stop after all.
We were laying east to west so watched a beautiful sunset and moon rise.

Different for sure, but each is beautiful!
