We ran out of homemade jam in September. By that time we were in Illinois and looked for a replacement. We found a variety of manufacturers produced jam. Imagine our surprise when we opened it and it contained no fruit or pulp. It looked like jelly but not translucent.
We tried several brands that are sold in Canada with the same result. We finally discovered that “preserves” is close to what we want: some fruit in a thick matrix. Not all preserves are similar though so we check each jar.

You need some of my homemade jam!!

You’ll need a bigger boat to store jam alone on your summer trips.
