Even though we are on an “adventure of a lifetime” real stuff happens. Our latest discovery is that almonds and aging dental work do not mix. John broke off a substantial portion of a rear molar.

Strangely enough dentists are incredibly easy to find along our route. A surprising number seem to be located either in townhouses or condos near marinas.
The tooth broke during dinner in Southport. John was able to find an appointment with a dentist the next afternoon. He was also able to get an appointment in Wrightville’s Beach – our next stop. This fit really well with our cruising plans for the day so we cast off our lines.
The dentist office called during the trip and offered an appointment at 2PM. Better yet. While John was getting a filling, Rocco and I walked to a groomers about a kilometre away (long walk for Rocco) so he could have a pedicure. On our way there we meet John walking back. Sometimes things work out really well.
