This morning we left a very interesting marine. The Alligator River Marina is a combination highway gas station and marina. Some clever entrepreneur built a gas station in a remote part of North Carolina but on the highway from Raleigh to the coast. Even though almost nobody lives here the traffic on the highway is steady. And the boat traffic that comes down the river is also significant because it leads to the Albemarle Sound which is on the northern route of the AICW.

This stop also boasts of great fried chicken in the grill inside the gas station. We already had plans for supper but they did open at 6AM for breakfast. A breakfast biscuit and a drumstick washed down with a hot. coffee and I was ready to tackle the crossing.

The breakfast of champions.
We must go there! It sounds like our kind of place!!
