The Hilton Beach Marina is one of the largest in the North Channel . Located on the northeast corner of St Joseph’s Island, it is a full service marina featuring over 160 slips and a clean/modern service building. The marina staff are great; keeping the docks and grounds spotless. The staff told us how much they enjoy the stories and adventures loopers share.
I am not sure who came up with the idea but the marina has the best dock identification system we have seen. Different coloured flags on each dock are easy to spot when entering, plus they give an idea of wind direction and speed. You won’t hear “Turn to port after the big white boat” when requesting directions to your slip.
There is a large plaza in front of the showers that has tables and chairs.

A boardwalk follows the shoreline and is the perfect spot for an evening stroll to view the sunset, or an early morning sunrise. The boardwalks also leads to a beach. You will need water shoes but what a welcome relief in the heat of summer.
Little was open when we were there. Normally, two restaurants provide a break from cooking on the boat. The Island Market in Richard’s Landing delivers to the marina if you get your order in the day before. There is a new British shop in town just behind the Tilt’n Hilton Steakhouse. They sell scones, cookies, tea, coffee and some snack foods. Their butter tarts were sold out when we were the at 3 – just before closing.
