Richard’s Landing

Richards Landing is one of two communities located on St. Joseph Island. The last island in the chain of Manitoulin is linked by a fixed bridge -check your air draft. Richards Landing Municipal Marina is just a short cruise up St Joseph’s Channel on the port side after the bridge.

This is an active local marina with nice amenities. Lots of coming and going even in 2020. A restaurant on site that is reputed to be quite good but it was closed in 2020. We are 40 feet and I would be hesitant taking a larger boat in – can be done but a little nerve wracking.

The village is a great provisioning stop. The Island Market is a small grocery store that carries just about everything you need. There is an on-site butcher and frozen dough for a variety of bread and rolls. We highly recommend the Feta and Spinach sausages that are made in-house. They will vacuum pack and freeze if you want to stock up.

There is also a health centre, LCBO outlet, ice cream shop and Home Hardware.
