We are blessed or cursed with knowledge and experience of septic systems. Those that work and those that don’t. So arriving here and walking through the gravel parking lot with some standing water and a suspicious aroma, caused us to look around. The water clearly wasn’t a storm surge from the lake. More than likely a result of overflow from the leaching field just uphill. This was confirmed when we walked across a very spongy lawn.
What’s the dilemma?
Before walking the dogs in this morning’s rain. I had to decide if I should wear my flip-flops or get my only pair of sneakers soaked. I really didn’t wanted to walk through sewage, diluted or not but I didn’t want my sneakers steeped in it either. In the end I opted for flip-flops and rinsing my feet.
Oh and by the way, white flip-flops weren’t a great choice.
