Author’s note: my editor has changed the title of this post to something more upbeat.
Who knew that four years ago this would take so long. June 16, 2019 we were in Kingston Ontario starting out on the loop. We got as far as Charlevoix Michigan that fall and put the boat up thinking we would start again in the spring of 2020. It took a global pandemic to give us a case of Loopus Interuptus.
Fast forward to today in Kingston and we finished the loop 4 years and 1 day later.
In reality we left Midland Ontario 13 months ago and just got back to Kingston today. We are officially Gold Loopers.
We have decided to spend a few weeks or months on the Rideau Canal this summer before deciding on our boating future and we will probably keep posting our progress but as far as the loop is concerned Porky said it best.

That gold flag will look mighty good on Moon Dance! We so much enjoyed meeting you in Peoria, sharing food/beverages and good conversation along the way on the Tennessee, and having anchoring fun together in Florida. I wish we would have caught up with you again before you went all gold on us! But I have a funny feeling we’ll see you again someday. Love and congratulations from your friends on Surface Interval!!
